What happens to what you type

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your web browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, and there are no accounts. To save you retyping, your figures and checklist ticks are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. Nobody else can see them.

Use the Clear button in each calculator to remove your figures, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. On a shared or work computer, clear it when you're done.

Share links

The runway planner can create a link containing your figures so you can open them on another device or show someone you trust. The figures sit after the # in the link, a part browsers never send to any server, so they only travel as far as you send the link. Anyone with the link can see the figures, so share it carefully.

Cookies, analytics and hosting

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks. If aggregate visitor statistics are enabled, they are cookieless and never include anything you type into the calculators.

On the podcast page, Spotify's player only loads if you press Play here. Once it loads, Spotify's own privacy policy applies and it may set cookies. Nothing from Spotify loads until you choose to play.

The guides and calculators are general information and estimates, not legal, tax, financial or benefits advice. They are checked against official sources, but rules change, every situation is different, and simplifications are necessary: tax, for example, is estimated at a flat rate.
